So is life going by too fast for everyone else, or is it just me who feels left behind? I truly need a few extra hours each day in order to get it all done. Thursday is the end of our nine week grading period. I can't believe that this school year is 1/4 over!
My little man is getting so BIG! He is getting more independent and also becoming a good helper. He loves his familia and is a sweet boy. [with a few two year old tantrums thrown in too! ;) ] He loves his new school and I have been twice to visit. He really enjoys the activities and circle time. (boy do I miss Kindergarten...)
Grandma has been in the hospital for four days- they finally let her out. We are hoping that all of the medicine changes are good and that she won't have anymore drama. (AKA- breakouts and swelling)
I am so excited that fall finally seems to be arriving. Today after the rain it smelled like dead leaves. OK so I know that probably sounds gross- but it signals fall... I love fall. We slept with our windows open last night and it was the best night's sleep I have had in a LONG time.
Anyway...just checking in. And Amanda- you will have to help me with the tagging and stuff- I am clueless!

International Peace Day
So today we were invited to a celebration based on the United Nations Peace Day. It was organized by Abintra Montessori and all of the Montessori schools were invited to participate. I was glad that Brandon's school participated. :) I was also VERY pleased that although our message was peace and that we are attempting to teach our children to be peaceful and go through life with grace they were supportive of our troops and the work that they are doing. (This is sometimes difficult for people to understand- wanting peace and supporting our troops.)
Being there and singing with everyone reminded me very much of our Utopian Society in High School and the peace rally we organized and hosted there.
Each school made doves to symbolize peace. During a portion of the program all of the children adn the different schools followed two GIANORMOUS doves around our area of the park-flying their individual doves. (I am saving Brandon's!)
Sorry all of the pics are at the top- I haven't figured out all of this blogging stuff yet!

Apple Pickin'
So... grandma mentioned that our cousin & aunt had way more apples and pears than they could ever use or gather and give away and that we should go and get some. This sounded great to me because personally- baked apples is the main way I eat them. So we decided to head out and gather some apples and pears to put up for the winter.
After Javi took 1 bucket of pears up to the house and was headed up with the first bucket of apples (they live next door- which makes this super convenient) I thought to holler up for him to bring out my camera. I wanted to document our first apple picking adventure since Brandon came along- and in all honesty- the first time Javi picked with us too.
Anyway- we ended up with 2 buckets of apples and 1 of pears. We fixed enough last night to cook for tonight, and we have lots of work to do today to ensure a yummy winter!
Here are some pics!
Brandon had a great time. He was a wonderful helper!

Brandon was proud of his harvest!

All that work will wear a boy out!

My boys resting after all of their hard work!
