Updates!

So- I am LOVING PreK just like I thought I would! It has been a great start to the year for me. I love the staff at my new school- I feel a little weird at a different school, but everyone there is positive and we are loving the challenge and what we KNOW we can do with these kids! I have a great parapro and a good class.

Since my last post I have officially turned 30. Ed believes that this makes me old but my only concern is we are a little behind schedule of my family dreams due to finances- but if it is meant to be we will get there! My 30th was great (except for having to stay at work 2 hours later than normal for our 1st faculty mtg). We all went and ate at Wasabi in Mt. Juliet and the kids got to watch the hibatchi thing for the first time. My family pitched in and also got me and awesome CHI which i proceeded to use the 2nd day i owned! :)

I am beginning to look forward to cooler weather, sweaters, pumpkins and all of my other favorite fall things! Can't wait to take more pics!

First official day of a new year!

Today is my first official say at school this year. I am very excited to be at a new school and teaching PreK! Thanks to my super family I might get it all done! Grandma and I have spent the last five days- that right even Sunday working on getting me moved and set up. My whole family came by yesterday and helped me move furniture, recycle boxes etc. So now I think I might be about ready in time for preview night on Wednesday. :) I am off to start a new step! Updates to follow!

Job Hunt- not good

Sooo... I never heard from my potential PreK spot today. She said that we would talk today. I even called and left her a message. :( I guess that I am back to second grade. Luckily for me Hickman will be open in the morning so I will go in there and light a fire under my tail working on that second grade room. The good news is that we did a lot of planning earlier this summer so at least I am prepared for that! Oh well - turns out this year is not my year. Who knows when it will be?

Job hunt!

So...my interview at the Martha OBryan Center went really well. I anticipate hearing from her on Friday. I do have another interview tomorrow morning at J.E. Moss. I believe that this may be my year to get into prek! YAY! So excited! :)

VACTION 2009!!!

This is Brandon chuggin his old school barrel juice. Not a great picture, but Brandon was sort of over the castle and did not really want his pic taken either.

Here is Brandon with a little fish he rescued. A man was crabbing with a net and he caught a lot of these little fish. He just sort of shook them out and Brandon and I went along throwing them back in the water so they could swim away.

This a little hermit crab that had been cruising through the wet sand. I tried to take a picture up closer but my lovely son threw sand at it b/c he wanted it to move and messed up his beautiful track through the sand.

This is a picture from Driftwood Beach- it is the most beautiful beach on the island. Brandon and I enjoyed a nice photoshoot until we got worried about Granny B, Kaylee and Aunt Beth never showing up...that is however another story.

Granpa rode to the beach in the hatch. This was to avoid taking an extra car.

Here is Kaylee with her very first sand castle. This picture was taken by Beth.

Here is how we saw this historic district. We didn't think that Gma and the kids would make it walking and you cannot drive through the whole thing so it toured in a carriage. Javi went with us- but he is the photographer for this one!

We had a great time- even though there were a few mishaps along the way. We stayed in a house 3 doors from the beach. Ed and Amanda were only able to come for a couple of days, but the rest of us stayed for a week. This was the kids first trip to the beach and they had a blast. We definately enjoyed Jekyll Island, but Uncle Ed votes for Florida next year so that we can swim in clearer water.

Update on visit with Amanda (mother's day weekend)

Brandon and Ms. Amanda on the flounder at the aquarium!
I was proud of this pic- thanks for helping me with my camera Amanda! Unfortunately I can't getany of this pics to add at the bottom of my post!

This would be Kaylee literally climbing the walls of the cabin!

This is a pic of the lilypads at Dollywood. I am trying my hand at pics that don't always have people in them!

Sooo- I know this is late, but better late than never right? We had a great weekend visiting the mountains. It was an adventure to find our cabin in the middle of the night. We were driving up the mountain very slowly and quietly as Beth and I are trying to find our cabin and Brandon is in the backseat going "It's cweepy, momma it's cweepy up here." And, well- ya just can't laugh in his little face.

So after we finally find our cabin and get settled the screen door wakes me up in the middle of the night. I am thinking I am too tired and don't want to leave Brandon alone in a strange bed to fix it. Tomorrow we will have to make sure it is closed good. Well- the next morning when we leave to got o Dollywood- guess what- no screen door! However there are some pretty big scratches on top of the trash cover on the porch. Good thing I didn't open the door to check on the nonexistant screen door! I would have been looking at a bear instead!

Saturday after we got rained out of Dollywood we ate lunch at a BBQ place in Pigeon Forge, went to the grocery store and then met Amanda so she could follow us up the mountain. Brandon took a nap while Kaylee climbed the walls (literally) and we girls caught up a bit. After nap time was over we went into Gatlinburg and visited the Aquarium- that was awesome and I learned a little bit about my camera from Amanda! :) We then went to No Way Jose's for dinner- it was pretty good.

That evening we were too tired to stay up for the movie night we had planned once the kids got to bed, but we did take turns in the nice hot shower and the kids really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed out. Our first stop was the pancake pantry. I was dropped off while everyone else went to park. What seemed like and eternity later they showed up with a story about Kaylee throwing up or something-jk. After they put K's carseat out to dry and cleaned her up and changed her they made their way down to the pancake pantry. The kids had Bears in the snow, Amanda and Beth had the Buckwheat pancakes and I had some sort of caramel thing-it was the current special. After breakfast Amanda headed back to Knoxville and we did a little more shopping before heading home.

The trip home was uneventful (thankfully) and when we got home mom, dad and gma had made it home from California as well.

Uh Oh!

I can't believe I haven't been on here since October. I will try to do better. This weekend we are going to visit Amanda (hugs!) and hit Gatlinburg. I'm not sure what we will do, but I know it will be fun! Hopefully I can post some pics from that and the next weekend will be Brandon's 3rd Birthday- it seems like time has really flown. So- hopefully I will at least have good stuff for the next couple of weeks...too bad we didn't take pics of Starbucks and midnight Twilight DVD party-hehe!
